Snapback privacy policy

Last updated:

Snapback is a tray app for Windows that puts your windows back where they were after sleep, unlock, a dock change or a monitor replug.

What Snapback collects

Nothing. Snapback does not collect, send or share any personal information.

What Snapback saves on your PC

All of these files are in the app's own data folder in your Windows user profile. Like the rest of your profile, the folder is protected by your Windows account: other users of the PC without administrator rights cannot open it. Window titles are also encrypted (Windows data protection): only your Windows account on this PC can read them. You can open the folder from About Snapback > Open data folder and delete any file at any time. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Diagnostics

If you click Diagnostics… in the tray menu and then Create zip, the app writes a zip file in its own data folder on your PC and opens File Explorer on it: system info, the log, your settings and your saved layouts. Window titles are replaced with "(hidden)" unless you tick "Include window titles" (then the zip has them as plain text). Nothing is sent: you decide whether to share the zip.

Children

Snapback does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date.
